Uglass Tees was built on the foundational “check”  of Memphis slang and vernacular. “Checking” is a big part of Memphis culture. To “check” someone means to “roast”, “make fun of” or “throw shade”.  Whether it is your Grand Mama telling you to, “Stop actin’ ugly” or getting checked ’bout dem’ uglass shoes, it is clearly recognizable and spirited.
